Our annual Father/Sons opening day hunt was GREAT. We got out to a local refuge for an afternoon hunt that was a great one that we will each remember for many years. It is amazing just how much goes into outfitting an eight and nine year old hunter so he can go out on a single trip to the marsh. IT IS SO WORTH IT, though. I wish I had a video camera for this one... Aaron and Jalen blew their Echo mallard calls at each and every duck that flew near our pond. The gentlemen with the spinners North of us were pulling most of the birds off of the boys, but they were able to coax at least five ducks into the decoys for me. I shot so-so, and finished with 5 ducks for the afternoon. Being able to watch the sun set with Aaron and Jalen on the opener was great; a time that every Dad out there can understand.
